Quality Assured Accommodation
FHB Standards
Farm Holiday Bureau members in England's North Country are inspected by the English Tourism Council to ensure that a high standard of cleaniless, courtesy and service is maintained. All members must also be inspected by their National Tourist Organisation and agree to meet its minimum standards and observe its code of conduct.
FHB members and associates
Most of the farms listed in the guide are full members of the Farm Holiday Bureau. They belong to local groups that share information and best practice and help raise quality standards to the highest level. Associates are not members of local groups and may only recently have joined the Bureau. They are indentified by the word 'Associate' in their guide entry and may become full members in due course.
Accommodation symbols and awards
The English Tourism Council operates classification/assessment/grading schemes for serviced accommodation and self-catering properties. This year the English Tourism Council is launching a new Diamond Scheme for guest accommodation.
Accommodation symbols and awards are shown in each farm entry. Any farm that is awaiting inspection by the ETC at the time of going to press will have the word 'Applied' in place of a symbol or award.
