Service
accommodation
The English Tourism Council has introduced a new Diamond Scheme
for guest accommodation. Establishments are rated from 1-5
Diamonds.
The more Diamonds, the higher the level of customer care.
Some establishments may also have a Gold or Silver Award.
These are new and are exclusive to the English Tourism Council.
The awards are given to establishments that not only achieve the
overall quality rating required for their Diamond rating, but
also reach the highest levels of quality in the areas that guests
indentify as being really important. They will reflect the quality
of comfort and cleanliness in the bedrooms and the quality of
service to be found throughout the stay.
Farms
marked 'Awaiting new rating' were awaiting a new Quality Asssured
Diamond rating at the time of going to press. These properties
were awarded crowns under the old English Tourist Board's classification
scheme.
Self-Catering
Self-catering
acconmodation is currently classified by the English Tourism Council,
according to the range of facilities provided, in a range from
1-5 keys.
Holiday
homes are also quality graded 'Approved', 'Commended',
'Highly Commended' or 'Deluxe' alongside the classification
symbol.
Unless
stated, English farms in this guide are all quality assessed by
the English Tourism Council. Under the new harmomised inspection
scheme, some Diamond ratings may also have been awarded by other
organisations, such as the AA. This is shown alongside appropriate
ratings.
